Vicente Coves Merino, classical guitarist. Born in Jaen in 1982, he lived in Linares until 1997, year in he moved to Granada. It begins his musical studies with his brother, the pianist and conductor, Manuel J. Coves. After realizing the corresponding academic studies and obtaining the maximum qualifications, from 1997 he is a disciple of legendary Pepe Romero, maximum world exponent of the classic guitar .

He has toured Italy, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Russia, etc; as a soloist with orchestra in some of most important auditoriums over the world, like Great Hall Tchaikovsky (Moscow), Teatro Colòn (Buenos Aires), National Auditorium of Music of Madrid, Auditorium of Zaragoza (Symphonic Room Mozart), Theater Verdi (Florence), Auditorium "Three cultures" Expo-Zaragoza 2008, Theater Lope de Vega ( Sevilla) ,51 Festival Cueva de Nerja, Kolner Philarmonie (Germany), Seoul Arts Center

He has been invited, between others, as a soloist in the Orquesta Filarmònica de Buenos Aires, Radio Television Spanish Orchestra (OSRTVE), Philharmonic Young Orchestra of Moscow, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Orchestra della Toscana, Cologne Chamber Orchestra, Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Orquesta de Còrdoba, Orquesta Nacional de Ecuador, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Qatar Philarmonic, Orquesta Nacional de España, etc.
He has collaborated with conductors like Jean Jacques Kantorow, Adrian Leaper, Isaac Karabtchevsky, Juanjo Mena, Miquel Ortega, Enrique Diemecke, Manuel Hernández-Silva, Manuel Coves, John Neschling, etc. and has plays along with artists as Pepe Romero, María Bayo, Esperanza Fernández, Horacio Ferrer and Enrique Morente, who invited it to take part in his dvd - cd “Morente sueña la Alhambra”.
From 2003, it belongs to Versus ensemble, with whom it has a monographic cd of Astor Piazzolla published for Naxos.
Between the contributions of Vicente Coves to the world of the guitar, orders and world premieres are included, as well as the first world recordings of diverse works. Between them, it works it "Sinfonìa a Granada", for soprano guitar and orchestra. by composer Lorenzo Palomo, with text of Luís García Montero and that was composed for Vicente Coves and Maria Bayo and was released and recorded for the Naxos record label. Also it released and recorded the "Andalusian Rhapsody" of Anna Muzychenko, in the legendary Symphonic "Great Hall Tchaikovsky Moscow" and, lately, it has been requested to release a new "Concert for guitar and orchestra" with Manuel Hernández- Silva and the Orquesta de Córdoba in a multitudinary and acclaimed concert in the "Plaza de la Corredera" , Córdoba.
In the academic sector, it has offered diverse Masterclass, even like assistant of the legendary Pepe Romero and has promoted a few free Masterclass for the pupils of the Superior Conservatories of Andalusia, in which they could be provided with the education of big teachers, like Romero and the famous Spanish pianist Joaquín Achúcarro, between others. He is an Artistic director of the "Experto Universitario en Interpretaciòn" - that includes diverse instrumental specialties - organized by the International University of Andalusia - Unia-.
Published in 2011 with a great success for Naxos its 4º cd and the 3º for the multinational Naxos. “ Latin American music for guitar", include the contribution of the Maestros Enrique Morente and Horacio Ferrer.
In January 2015, Naxos, publish the first cd of the complete music for guitar and orchestra made by Federico Moreno-Torroba. First disc was recorded in July 2013 with Pepe Romero, Manuel Coves, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga and Vicente Coves. They will record two more cd in the next months.
